CATHERINE McEVOY: TRADITIONAL FLUTE MUSIC IN THE SLIGO-ROSCOMMON STYLE
Catherine McEvoy: flute
Felix Dolan: piano

Originally from Birmingham, UK, Catherine McEvoy is one of finest contemporary exponents of the Sligo-Roscommon style of flute playing, both lyrical and driving. The tunes played on this recording combine classic traditional pieces from the Connaught flute tradition, as well as new additions to the Irish flute repertoire like the compositions of the late Josie McDermott and East Galway's Vincent Broderick. With solid piano accompaniments by Felix Dolan, one of the best known players in the US.
