Tocane is the French equivalent of Willie Week or Augusta's Irish Week, and its yearly summer "Rencontre musicale irlandaise" has brought to this little town in Dordogne, southwest France, such musicians as Catherine McEvoy, Mary MacNamara, Seamus and Manus McGuire, Seamus Creagh, Nollaig Casey, Paddy O'Neill, James, Keane, Charlie Piggott, Fintan Vallely, Kieran Hanrahan, and more. Made for the 10th anniversary of this event, this collection presents recordings made at two "faculty" concerts in July 2000 and, from the first note of "The Piper's Despair" played by the McGuires to the grand finale, it is full of great music, 19 tracks in all.
