THE TULLA CEILI BAND: ECHOES OF ERIN
Just shy of 1960, at a time when recordings of Irish traditional were few and far between indeed, the New York Irish label Dublin released a series of landmark albums, one of which was by the famous Co, Clare ceili band, the Tulla Ceili Band, which had just won the All-Ireland title in 1957. For the longest time, however, only a privileged few owned a copy of the original LP, and a few others would have heard it on tapes copied many times over. With this long-awaited CD reissue, the exciting sounds of the Tulla Ceili Band can be heard again--bear in mind that the quality of the sound reflects the technology of the time. But at this price, who could resist.
