THE TULLA CEILI BAND: 60TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
For the past few decades, the Tulla Ceili Band, one of the best known traditional dance bands in Ireland, has been getting together to record an anniversary album. Formed in 1947 to compete in the first ever ceili band competition in Limerick, the Tulla Ceili Band has seen some changes over the years. There are quite a few younger faces shown in the photograph of the current band, and the overall sound of the band has changed accordingly. Although most of the 16 tracks are by the full band, one track features the two flute players, and another, the two fiddle players, one being Martin Hayes. This is a fine edition of the Tulla, P. Joe Hayes can be proud.
