COLM O'DONNELL: THE ROCKS OF BAWN
Colm O'Donnell: vocals

This collection of songs, and a couple of lilted tune medleys, by the great singer and flute player from South Sligo who gave us "Farewell to Evening Dances" (still on my favorites list), is not exactly new. It was first recorded in 1998 and re-released on CD last year. I was able to get some copies during the March tour of Ceoltoiri Coleman, and not surprisingly it is well worth having. O'Donnell sings some well known traditional numbers, like "The Rocks of Bawn," as well as recent compositions like "The Bodhran" and "Bailing Twine" which were great crowd pleasers at the band's concerts.
