FRANKIE GAVIN: UP AND AWAY - CROCH SUAS E
Frankie Gavin: flute, fiddle, tinwhistle, accordion
Charlie Lennon: piano
Johnny 'Ringo' McDonagh: bodhran

The great Galway fiddle player and De Dannan founding member shows on this classic 1983 album that his flute playing is equally remarkable. Gavin introduces some of Charlie Lennon's great compositions alongside old classics from the repertoire of flute player John McKenna and other musicians from the 78 era. The last track, credited to Gavin's Irish Orchestra, on which he plays all the lead parts, is priceless. With brilliant, yet understated, accompaniments by Charlie Lennon (piano) and Johnny McDonagh (bodhran).
