VARIOUS: PAST MASTERS OF IRISH FIDDLE MUSIC
Another installment in the series of great collections of recordings from the 78 era compiled by Reg Hall, this one concentrating on the fiddle. Unlike my "Milestone at the Garden," Hall also includes sides by bands with fiddles and other instruments, for example sides by the old Ballinakill Ceili Band--but who would tire of those... There are also some great solo gems, in particular Neil O'Boyle's famous "Pigeon on the Gate," and previously unknown (to me) recordings by Michael Gorman, some in duet with flute player Mick Flynn.
