SIUCRA : HERE AMONG STRANGERS

A pleasant second recording by this American trio formed in Colorado in 1998 and composed of Beth Leachman (vocals, bodhran), Shannon Heaton (flute, whistle), and Matthew Heaton (guitar). Leachman's singing, at times reminiscent of that of the Dillon sisters, is worth hearing, and Shannon Heaton is an agile and inventive player, but the arrangements, particularly on the instrumentals and because of the constant guitar strumming and bodhran playing, end up having a certain sameness to them.
