MIKE & MARY RAFFERTY: THE ROAD FROM BALLINAKILL
Mike Rafferty: flute, whistle, lilting
Mary Rafferty: accordion, flute, whistle, concertina
Willie Kelly: fiddle
Gerry Conroy: whistle
Kathleen Glynn: vocals
Michael Rafferty: vocals
Donal Clancy: guitar
Gabriel Donohue: guitar, piano, bodhran

As the saying goes, if it ain't broke... The Raffertys have a winning formula and they keep with it, for our benefit. This third CD takes over exactly where the earlier two left off and brings us more of that delightful brand of "pure drop" traditional music which Mike (flute, whistle) and Mary (accordion, flute, whistle, concertina) Rafferty have become so well-known for. Donal Clancy (guitar) and Gabriel Donohue (guitar, piano, bodhran) are back as the able accompanists and, like on the last CD, we are treated to notable contributions from guest musicians, not the least of whom is fiddle player Willie Kelly, whose gentle style complements so well Mike Rafferty's flute playing. Another winner.
