SEAMUS QUINN & GARY HASTINGS: SLAN LE LOCH EIRNE - STORIES TO TELL
Seamus Quinn: fiddle, viola, melodeon, piano
Gary Hastings: flute
Charlie Lennon: fiddle
Ciaran Curran: bouzouki
Seamus Quinn and Gary Hastings, who happen to be both men of the cloth as well as masters of traditional music, bring us redemption through this gorgeous collection of dance tunes and airs. Father Quinn is impressive in his ability to perform equally brilliantly on several different instruments --the air "Slan le Loch Eirne" played on viola is a showstopper--while Reverend Hasting's straightforward but powerful flute playing is a perfect foil for his partner's music. Hastings's solo track is an equally beautiful performance of the air "The Banks of the Clyde." Although Quinn often accompanies on piano, he is sometimes replaced by Altan's Ciaran Curran on bouzouki. The great Leitrim musician Charlie Lennon makes a guest appearance on fiddle for a duet wih Quinn. 15 tracks of lovely traditional music.
