The wonderful debut CD [1996] by this well-known musician and scholar from Co. Clare, now residing in the US. O'hAllmhurain, widely regarded as one of the top concertina players from a county that has produced many, has mixed a number of tunes which one would consider representative of the repertoire of his native east Clare with melodies from further afield, including a few Scottish ones performed here with the expert backing of the great Cape Breton piano player Barbara MacDonald Magone. O'hAllmhurain is in great company for some of the Irish tunes too, as fiddle players Paddy Canny, Peadar O'Loughlin, and Martin Hayes, as well as flute player Micheal O'hAlmhain join him on some of the tracks.
