Reissue on CD of the classic Topic LP from their "Music from Sliabh Luachra" series. Accordion player Johnny O'Leary is one of the well-known exponents of Kerry music, and this recording, which also features his daughter Ellen on whistle and fiddle players Mick Duggan and Maurice O'Keeffe, is one of the classic sources for some of the polkas and slides which are characteristic of that music. The album starts with music for a complete polka set with six figures. The booklet reproduces Allan Ward's extensive original notes.
