John O'Connell was an important figure at traditional music gatherings around Cuil Aodha and Ballyvourney, on the Kerry-Cork border, during the 1960s and 1970s. He was a fiddle player and a singer, and it is his exceptional singing which is documented here, thanks to field recordings made by Seamus Mac Mathuna and by Diane Hamilton. 15 songs in English, with full lyrics in the CD booklet.
