Amateurs of Irish concertina music are in luck. Jacqueline McCarthy, who previously recorded the magnificent "The Wind Among the Reeds" with piper Tommy Keane, released this solo CD in 1999 and it is as wonderful as you might expect. Although there are solo tracks, with ever perfect bouzouki accompaniments by Alec Finn, this is more of a family affair. In addition to husband Tommy Keane (pipes, flute, fiddle, bodhran), the whole McCarthy clan, father Tommy Sr. (concertina), brother Tommy Jr. (fiddle), and sisters Marion (pipes) and Bernadette (fiddle, piano) participate in grand style. Excellent "pure drop" music.
