ALAN KELLY: MOSAIC
Those familiar with Kelly's previous "Out of the Blue" will know what to expect: expert, slick piano-accordion playing with Sharon-Shannon-like triplets, and contemporary backups. Arty McGlynn is the producer, and the arrangements, unfortunately, remind me of his album "Causeway," which was not nearly as good as "Lead the Knave." While Michael McGoldrick's "Fused" sounded cool, "Mosaic" tends to be annoying. A few of the tracks have a good traditional sound, but they are too few in my book.
