For their very first release (1998), the Chicago-based label Bogfire have produced a wonderful document of pure-drop traditional music from the Henry family of Tubbercurry and Chicago. Kevin Henry (b. 1929) has preserved in his playing the old style of his native area, one which is disappearing fast. Henry not only plays several instruments but also is great at delivering recitations with passion and flair. Twenty-three tracks in all.
