FRANK HARTE: MY NAME IS NAPOLEON BONAPARTE
Frank Harte: vocals
Donal Lunny: bouzouki, guitar
Although Harte and Lunny should hardly need an introduction, let's say that this, their fourth album together, is the crowning piece of a great collaboration between one of Ireland's foremost ballad singers and one of its most versatile and prolific accompanists. This 2-CD set is the logical follow-up to Harte and Lunny's previous album, the excellent "1798 The First Year of Liberty." Of course, the two had to outdo themselves, and this time put out two CDs, with a total of 26 songs. The album also happens to come out right on the heels of Terry Moylan's wonderful songbook "The Age of Revolution in the Irish Song Tradition" (see our Books section). I cannot imagine a most perfect confluence of materials for those interested in Irish history and music. Like with the previous CD, the booklet is a complete history lesson, putting each song in context as well as providing the full lyrics. Most highly recommended.
