GRAINNE HAMBLY: BETWEEN THE SHOWERS
Grainne Hambly: nylon-strung harp
Peter Ratzenback: guitar

Grainne Hambly, an excellent harp player and a former student of the famous Janet Harbison, released this first solo CD in 1999. Although she does play a few O'Carolan tunes here, she is one of a growing number of contemporary Irish harp players who have perfected the playing of traditional dance tunes and slow airs on their instrument, and it is that repertoire which is most represented on this album, nicely arranged for harp solo.
