Some very nice playing from both Glackin and O'Domhnaill--who also sings three songs--as well as the great guests they have along. In fact, it sounds at times like a pre-Bothy Band reunion. The selection of tunes is excellent, and Glackin's playing has its usual crispness and complexity, yet clarity of line. O'Domhnaill's accompaniments are spot on, and he has come up with some nice arrangements for the songs, particularly "Brid Bhan." But the instrumentation gets a little heavy on some tracks, with the addition of double bass, keyboards, and percussions, and the recorded sound of Glackin's fiddle is a bit harsh at times. Still overall a very enjoyable album.
