MICHEL FERRY: THE WINDING WAY
Michel Ferry: fiddle
Antoine Leclercq: guitar

Michel Ferry is a French fiddle player who plays Irish-style and who has achieved some notoriety through his composing the great reel "Farewell to Chernobyl" (recorded by Sharon Shannon and the Kane Sisters among others). On this CD, ably accompanied by Antoine Leclercq, Ferry has recorded 11 tracks of his own compositions in the Irish style--but they all have a sound of their own. Ferry's playing may not be quite as polished as one hears on other Irish recordings these days--in part, this is because the album was recorded "live," with no overdubs. But tune-hungry musicians are likely to find some interesting melodiess to add to their repertoire.
