Deirdre Collis: accordion
Maria Lynn-McHugh: piano
Aileen Donagher-McGowan: piano
Paul Gurney: piano

From Ballisodare, Co. Sligo, Deirdre Collis is a well-known musician, and has the distinction of having won senior All-Ireland titles on the accordion, the flute, and the whistle. On this new album, Collis sticks to the accordion, a big red Paolo Soprani with a big fat sound a la Joe Burke of old, a sound from which a lot of players have shied away in recent years. It's nice to hear it again, especially in the very capable hands of a player like Collis, and on some classic accordion reels like "Crossing the Shannon" or John Bowe's."
