TERRY BINGHAM: TRADITIONAL IRISH MUSIC FROM DOOLIN CO. CLARE
Terry Bingham: concertina
Mary Custy: fiddle
Dermot Byrne: accordion
Eoin O'Neill: bouzouki
Kevin Griffin, Ian Lamb: guitars

Originally from Co. Down, Bingham comes from a musical family--his sister Tara, married to fiddle player Dermie Diamond, is a well-known flute player. Now living in Clare, Bingham has also adopted the concertina, an instrument very much associated with Clare music. Bingham's playing is relatively simple and sparse in its ornamentation, and his music has a gentle, unhurried feel to it. Bingham is joined by fiddle player Mary Custy for a couple of lovely duets, as well as by Donegal box player Dermot Byrne on two other tracks. The accompaniments by Eoin O'Neill (bouzouki), Kevin Griffin and Ian Lamb (guitars) are beautifully restrained.
